Cloudburst

18 November 2007

With the weather looking good in the morning, nine of us headed up the High Falls Creek logging road until we ran into the snow. After a short hike along the logging road and a bit of a scrabbly hike through the trees, we emerged into the alpine to find some amazing snow and the usual stellar views. After summiting cloudburst we did a couple yo-yos on the north facing slopes. Lee seemed to think it was not filled in, but that was mainly due to his trying to ski rocky cliffs :-). The bowls were smooth and rockless.

The last bit to the summit. The very top of the alpine was a bit wind affected. But there were many lines in the wind shadows.

Strapping on the skis for the fun part.

There were many stupid grins after this run

A happy Crew

The ski out was not bad at all, a bit crusty in the trees, but we made good time, even with such a large group.
