Slim Creek

27 Dec 2006 to 1 Jan 2007

Doug, Jacquie, Jacqui, Jen, Louisa, Teresa, Anthony and myself grabbed a heli ride from Tyax into Slim Creek to enjoy some skiing over New Years. The snow was great for skiing in the trees, good for touring up high and the weather held out, for all but half a day.

After getting a bit settled in the cabin, we headed above the cabin for a couple evening turns.

Having a pretty motivated group, we were up early and managed to ski dawn to dusk most of the days we were there.

If you get the dishes clean enough, there is no need to wash them.

Doug is just not happy unless a ski trip has a bit of mixed climbing in there as well.

It is all down hill from here.

After 5 trips, Doug finally got the big bed.

Fireball

T & A

I seem to recall that this bottle of fireball was in the cabin the last time I stayed there, sometime around 2000. Luisa managed to finish off the bottle during this trip.

The wind does not really show up well in photos.

Possibly the wind is a bit more apparent in this photo.

Story time

Jenn passed a number of evenings by reading the Princess Bride out loud. Quite entertaining, though there was some confusion over the footnotes and asides, and we never did find out if Fezzik survived that last fall.

Digging out the cabin and outhouse managed to fill a good number of evening hours.

I think Luisa had her eyes shut in almost all of the photos I have of her.

One last shot before we headed out on the 30km ski out.
