19 to 21 February 2005
Looking for some of the legendary Rogers Pass powder, Craig, Frank, Helen and I headed up to the Asulkan Valley for a couple of days. As it had not snowed for a couple of weeks, the snow was getting a bit windblown, but the weather was amazing and we managed to find pockets of good snow where it was a bit more protected. |

The hut is basically a small metal box, more of an emergency shelter than a hut. |

The Retreat |
The snow was faceted and rotten on the pitch just below the summit, so we ended up backing off and climbing back down the ridge. |

The last day we toured up Young'sPeak and then skied out over the Illecillewaet Glacier. |
