After spending a whole year working in Engand I figured I deserved a break, so I booked a ticket and headed off to South Africa for 3 months. I spent the first month biking from Durban down the west and southern coasts to Cape Town. The highlight of this ride was definately section called the Wild Coast, stretching from Port Edward to East London. Along most of this section I traveled on footpath, tracks and beaches, not really recomended on a bike, but fun in a rather challenging way. Following the bike ride, I met up with Jonathan and we flew back to Durban. From there we headed off to the Drakensberg and hiked along the escarpement from North to South. This way it feels like you are going downhill on the map. The final 2 weeks I spent relaxing in Cape Town, doing a bit of paddle boarding, hiking and climbing. |
