Nepal was the first stop on my travels through Asia. I had originally planned on spending just over one month in Nepal, giving me time to do the Annapurna circuit and spend a bit of time in Kathmandu. After hearing good stories about the Everest region from travelers I met around Annapurna I decided to extended my visa and stay a bit longer. After a 8 day rafting trip down the Karnali river, I caught a bus to Jiri and walked into the Everest Region.

Nepal was definitely one of the highlights of my 10 months in Asia, and one of the most beautiful places I have been. Huge rugged mountains, beautiful friendly people and the chance to suffer at "high" altitude. Definitely a recommended trip for anyone who loves being outdoors in the mountains.

During my travels I sent out trip journals to friends and family back home. Mainly to make sure they did not forget about me, but also to share some of the experiences I has along the way. I have posted these here, the worst of my grammar and spelling mistakes have been edited out, but other than that they remain as I originally sent them out. They are my thoughts at the time and may or may not have reflected the reality around me.
